Our event will be in downtown Minneapolis at the historic Depot (official Web site). Local foods will be in abundance. Hundreds of the friends and supporters who made IATP's 20 years a success will join us.

Winona La DukeWe are honored to have Winona LaDuke serving as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Winona LaDuke is an Anishinaabekwe (Ojibwe) enrolled member of the Mississippi Band Anishinaabeg who lives and works on the White Earth Reservations, and is the mother of three children. As Program Director of the Honor the Earth Fund, she works on a national level to advocate, raise public support, and create funding for frontline native environmental groups. She also works as Founding Director for White Earth Land Recovery Project. In 1994, Winona was nominated by Time magazine as one of America's fifty most promising leaders under forty years of age. She has been awarded the Thomas Merton Award in 1996, the BIHA Community Service Award in 1997, the Ann Bancroft Award for Women's Leadership Fellowship, and the Reebok Human Rights Award, with which she began the White Earth Land Recovery Project.

Jim HightowerThe ever-inspiring and entertaining Jim Hightower is the dinner's keynote speaker. Jim is a long-time friend of IATP and shares our values. For a decade as Texas Agricultural Commissioner, Jim was known for fostering organic production, alternative crops, direct marketing by small farmers, strong pesticide regulations and other innovative programs that supported family farms. He is currently a best-selling author, nationally syndicated columnist and radio commentator and the editor of The Hightower Lowdown. Best of all, his talks deliver his hard-hitting message while keeping audiences laughing.

IATP is honoring two individuals who have their own impressive history of supporting fair trade, farmers, healthy food and democratic institutions: Chef Lucia Watson and Dr. Edgard Pisani
