IATP is thrilled to honor two individuals who have their own impressive history of supporting fair trade, farmers, healthy food and democratic institutions.

Chef Lucia Watson, owner of Lucia's in Minneapolis, will receive an award from IATP for her pioneering work as a local chef who, for over 20 years, has supported local family farmers and provided her customers with wonderful menus tied to the land and the seasons.

Dr. Edgard Pisani, noted international agricultural leader, will receive an award from IATP for his more than 60 years of work on behalf of farmer-friendly agriculture and democracy. Dr. Pisani served France as their secretary of national defense, an elected senator, minister of agriculture and then again in the National Assembly. He served as the president of the Institute of the Arab World (Institut du Monde Arabe) and in 1992 was elected by the UN General Assembly to occupy a seat on the Economic and Social Council. He was also the president of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies.
