BRAZIL, April 27, 2007 -- Sugarcane production for MY 2007/08 is forecast at 472 million metric tons, up more than 10 percent from the previous year, due to steady area expansion. Sugar production is projected to increase to 32.85 mmt, raw value. In addition, sugar exports are expected to reach 21.8 mmt (up 8 percent from previous MY), while ethanol exports for MY 2007/08 are forecast at 3.0 billion liters (down form 3.6 billion).
