Food and Faith Project

Churches, synagogues and other faith-based organizations are embracing local foods, healthy eating and sustainable agriculture in many innovative ways including serving as community-supported agriculture (CSA) drop sites, teaching cooking classes, hosting farmers markets, growing fresh produce for food shelves and featuring local farmers at community events.

Faith communities can be important supporters of healthy eating as they often have a strong presence in their neighborhoods, excel at community outreach and are committed to the well-being of community members. IATP's Local Foods program is working to identify and expand opportunities for faith communities to support local foods, sustainable agriculture and healthy eating. You can learn more at:
