Join IATP to get up to speed on the last 25 years of NAFTA and what to expect for food and farms as it is renegotiated.

Corporate consolidation in the food and farm system has been heavily influenced by undemocratic global trade. The agreement that set the blueprint for these bad deals is the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

For 25 years, IATP has been researching and advocating on NAFTA. We have accurately predicted the consequences of NAFTA's failed policies. As a candidate, Donald Trump railed against NAFTA, yet as the administration begins renegotiation on August 16th, in Washington D.C., their published objectives are just more of the same corporate giveaways, including much of the same objectives as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) that millions of advocates around the world worked to defeat last year.

In preparations for the first NAFTA round, IATP is creating a website portal of our NAFTA research and analysis from the past 25 years and publishing a NAFTA 101 primer. This event will help to launch this work, and, hopefully, give our partners around the world the tools to influence NAFTA renegotiation in a way the either benefits people and the planet, or sinks this bad deal for good.

Ben Lilliston, IATP's Director of Corporate Strategies and author of the NAFTA 101 primer, will be presenting. Plenty of time will be allotted for Q&A and discussion. Wonderland Park Peace Coffee has lots of great food and snacks for purchase. Tea, coffee and water will be provided.
