NEW YORK - The New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA) announced today that the first lady of the United States, Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton, will deliver the luncheon keynote address at the association's 9th Annual Meeting November 8, 1999. The meeting will be held in New York City at the New York Hilton and Towers on November 8 and 9. The NYBA annual meeting is considered to be the premier bioscience event in New York state, attracting hundreds of healthcare professional in the biotechnology industry and related fields from all over the country.

"We are truly honored and privileged that the first lady, a long time proponent of healthcare-related issues, has agreed to address our members at the November annual meeting," stated Karin Duncker, executive director of NYBA. "For much of her public life, Mrs. Clinton has used her name to raise funds and awareness for increased research on the treatment and prevention of diseases including AIDS, cancer and epilepsy."
