SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - NetMarketor.com, an Internet marketing firm, announced today that the Internet domain name designergenes.com is for sale.

"This is a very exciting day for us," said D.A. Kinkade, Sr. Vice-President of Marketing. "As of today, a bid can be placed by logging onto the web site designergenes.com and link directly to the auction site. The Internet-based auction will end on Thursday, January 6, 2000."

"We feel the timing is right for a forward-thinking company to establish a presence on the web in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. This is the perfect domain name with which to start a whole new industry." Recently, the Human Genome Project has made headlines as scientists have predicted it will lead to cures for virtually every disease. This government-sponsored project to map the human genetic code is nearing completion and thus, the full implication of the term "Designer Genes" is becoming very real.

Last week, another major milestone was reported when scientists finished the map of the first of the 23 human chromosome pairs. Scientists believe the rest of the three billion-letter human genome map could be completed as soon as 2001, or before. A recent CNN news report has characterized the Human Genome project as "The ultimate voyage of discovery."

"In the midst of all this exciting activity, our aim is to sell this domain name to a responsible, major entity as a platform for their Internet future with the use of the designergenes.com domain name," concluded Kinkade.
