Julia Neal

Julia Neal is currently a student at the University of Santa Cruz, California. She has completed her B.A. in environmental studies with a focus on agroecology and sustainable food systems and is in the process of completing her B.A. in community studies. For the field study component of this degree, she is interning with the Community Food Systems team and Communications team at IATP. The pursuit of food sovereignty as defined by La Via Campesina and dismantling the Seed and Chemical Industrial Complex motivates Julia. As a recent Editor-In-Chief of her university's satirical newspaper, she strongly believes in the power of storytelling and its ability to make social and political change. She looks forward to the coalition building work as well as supporting the many Farm to School and Farm to Early Care programs.
