The land application of sewage sludge is used today as a means of disposal for highly toxic sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants. There is considerable evidence of human and environmental harm from this practice.  IATP was one of a large group of petitioners joining with the Center for Food Safety in bringing a law suit against the Environmental Protection Agency to stop the application of sewage sludge on U.S. farmland.
