Kate Albright-Hanna

Kate Albright-Hanna is a journalist whose instincts for powerful storytelling have led her from political campaign trails to the flooded streets of post-Katrina New Orleans. She won Emmys for two post-9/11 CNN documentaries and was nominated for a film about the 2004 Howard Dean presidential campaign. In 2008, she led the online video team in the Obama presidential campaign, producing over 2,000 videos (ranging from thirty-second spots to twenty-minute documentaries), leading some to refer to it as the “YouTube Campaign.” Kate continued into the Obama Administration as content lead for the Presidential Transition Team’s website, and then as a consultant to the Department of Health and Human Services. In 2010, she launched The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, and in 2011, Up with Chris Hayes, as a senior editorial producer at MSNBC. She’s currently at work on a novel that aims to answer the question: What happened to America?
