Matt Kinsella-Walsh
Food and Trade Policy Analyst
Matt Kinsella-Walsh (he/him) joined IATP as the Food and Trade Policy Analyst in 2026. He writes, researches, and organizes at the intersection of labor, food systems, and international trade. Prior to joining IATP, Matt spent eight years as a chef and cook in award-winning restaurants and community mutual aid kitchens. He brings this practitioner’s perspective to his work with IATP.
Matt holds a BA in Politics from Oberlin College, and an MA in Global Studies from the University of California-Santa Barbara, where he specialized in agrarian political economy. A native of the Midwest, Matt has spent significant time working and living across Latin America, including in Mexico, Chile, and Brazil.
Outside of work, Matt loves to garden, cook elaborate meals with friends, and read speculative fiction.
