Sophie Scherger

Climate and Agriculture Policy Officer

Sophie Scherger is the climate and agriculture policy officer at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy European Office in Berlin. In her work she examines the links between agriculture and the climate crisis, exposing the role of the livestock industry. In her research, policy and coalition work she advocates for a holistic just transition towards a food system that takes the multiple challenges of the climate crisis into account and debunks false solutions. In the European Office she focuses mainly on climate and agriculture legislation of the European Union, but also national and international processes that are connected to that. Sophie holds a Master of Science in Human Ecology from Lund University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen.
