This report is the culmination of a series of research, piloting activities and policy discussions on
the development of farmer professional associations (FPAs). Its objective is to synthesize
information and experience on the development, operation and support of FPAs, and to present
policy recommendations on ways in which effective farmer associations in China can be better
supported and developed.
