Mary Hendrickson and William Heffernan of the University of Missouri have again updated their numbers on concentration in the agricultural and food processing sector. Since 1999, they have been following the trend of consolidation in a number of sectors of the agricultural economy by looking at how much of the market the top 3 or 4 companies control.
