Food and Agricultural Imports from China

U.S. food and agricultural imports have increased significantly in recent years, causing some in Congress to question whether the U.S. food safety system can keep pace. This report looks at a series of recent incidents that have raised safety concerns from China in particular and at responses from China and the US Congress to tackle the problem.

Assessing the Bioeconomy

To better understand what others in the U.S. and around the world think about this emerging economy, IATP conducted an informal survey in September 2006. The survey went out to multiple networks that IATP has developed over the years as part of its international trade work, as well as U.S.-based domestic farm and environmental networks.
